It still always amazes me when I see parents talking to their babies in French… my automatic reaction is “how the heck do you think they’re going to understand you when you talk like that?” I continue to feel really stupid when I see five-year-olds understanding and then spitting back out the gibberish that is fast-paced French, that I can’t pretend to understand as well as they already do.
